Care services
PEG feeding, catheter and stoma care, epilepsy and moving-and-handling, delivered by carers who are trained and assessed as competent for each person’s needs.
Complex care means clinical tasks delegated to trained carers, in someone’s own home, usually over years rather than weeks. Because these needs can carry additional risks, every package is carefully assessed, planned and monitored.
Where clinical tasks are delegated, carers receive individual training and competency assessment from an appropriate healthcare professional. We do not send anyone to a task they have not been assessed as competent for, and we will not take a package we cannot staff safely.
When it is not the right answer. We will only begin care when suitably trained and competent carers are available. If that means saying no to a package, we will tell you honestly rather than take it on.
What is included
The care plan is written with you, so this is a starting point rather than a fixed list.
Feeds, flushes, pump management and PEG-site care, trained on the individual’s regime.
Routine care, bag changes and monitoring, with escalation routes agreed in advance.
Seizure recognition, recording, and rescue medication where trained and authorised.
Support using the agreed moving-and-handling plan, suitable equipment and trained staff — hoists, slings, slide sheets and transfers.
Where an appropriate healthcare professional has trained the team and assessed each carer as competent, and never otherwise.
We work with ICB-funded packages and personal health budgets, and we can talk you through both.
Referrals can come from the person, family, NHS, social worker or case manager. We complete a full assessment before agreeing the care plan.
This depends on the assessment, training required and staff availability. We will always explain the expected start date clearly.
Carers receive training for the person’s individual needs. Their competency is assessed before they provide delegated clinical support.
Medication support is agreed during the assessment and recorded in the care plan. Rescue medication is only given by trained and authorised carers.
Yes. If two carers are required for safe moving and handling or another assessed need, this can be arranged.
