Holiday care

A trained carer can accompany you on a UK or overseas trip, subject to an assessment, staff availability, insurance and travel requirements.

Plenty of people stop going away not because they cannot travel, but because the logistics became one thing too many. A carer can provide practical support, helping the holiday feel safer and easier to manage.

Whether you are planning a short UK break or an overseas holiday, we will help you consider the care arrangements in advance. What changes is the planning, and we do that part with you well ahead of the date.

Who this suits

  • Someone who has stopped going away because it felt impossible
  • A family who want a holiday together rather than in shifts
  • A wedding, a funeral or a birthday that needs travelling to
  • Anyone whose care needs are the only thing standing between them and a week away

When it is not the right answer. It needs planning time — six to eight weeks is realistic once travel, insurance and medication are involved. Last-minute is rarely possible and we would rather say so than let you book flights.

What is included

What holiday care covers

The care plan is written with you, so this is a starting point rather than a fixed list.

  • The same care, away from home

Personal care, medication and the routine, in a hotel room instead of a bedroom.

  • Travel itself

We support the person during the journey and can help coordinate airport assistance and accessible transfers with the family or travel provider.

  • Planning beforehand

We help you plan medication supplies and remind you to obtain any required letters from the GP or prescribing professional, alongside insurance questions and accessibility checks on the accommodation.

  • While you are there

Support with suitable outings, meals and activities, following the agreed care plan and risk assessment.

  • Family holidays

So the rest of the family get a holiday too, rather than a change of location.

  • A carer you already know

Wherever possible it is someone from your regular team, not a stranger for a fortnight.
